Nikki grew up in a small town in South Dakota.  She has always enjoyed being active and has been involved in sports since a very young age.  As a member of the University of Northern Colorado Track and Field team, Nikki competed as a Division II athlete.  Her sophomore year, she tore her Achilles tendon while hurdling at a track meet and had to undergo surgery.  After going through intense physical therapy, she attempted to compete her junior year but decided it was time for her to concentrate on new adventures in life.

A week after graduating from UNC, Nikki moved to Florida to continue her physical therapy education at the University of Miami.  She received her Doctorate in May 2008.  Upon graduation, she was very excited to move back to Colorado, not only to be closer to her family, but to enjoy all the outdoor activities the mountains have to offer.  Nikki enjoys hiking, skiing, running, going to the lake, and most of all spending time with close friends and family.

When working with patients, Nikki strives to take a whole-body approach which aides in treating the cause not just the symptoms of injury.  With this approach, she feels patients will return to their peak performance more quickly while preventing re-injury.  Working with many great mentors has taught her to combine manual therapy with individualized and specific exercise programs including Pilates-based rehabilitation.  Nikki is currently working towards her Manual Therapy Certification.
